Our name
Our firm’s name comes from the Italian word officina—meaning “workshop” or “studio”—to indicate our dedication to the making and crafting of architecture and interior design.
Officina is also an intentional play on the English word “office”. Combined with the Italian ending “-ina” it reflects that we are a small company that provides personalized design and attention to our much-valued clients.
About us
Studio Officina was founded in 2018 by Luki Anderson AIA.
Originally from Australia, Luki graduated from the University of Melbourne before moving to New York City in 2005.
Prior to founding Studio Officina, she worked as a senior project architect in New York for over fifteen years on a wide range of award-winning residential and cultural projects at well-renowned firms, including Andrew Berman Architect and Thomas Juul-Hansen.

Our approach
Our studio is founded on a simple principle: listening and working with our clients to create buildings and interiors that go beyond the basic need for shelter.
We see ourselves and the client as a team. We aim to demystify the project design and approvals process from the get-go, and we also keep our clients well-informed and up-to-date on all details throughout the project.
We walk hand-in-hand with our clients all the way through the design, approvals and construction process. We are aware that construction can sometimes feel like a stressful stage of a project, so we endeavor to stand by the client during this time as a calm and steady presence, answering construction questions and providing guidance about budget and schedule issues.
Please learn more about our approach to the construction phase on the FAQ page of our website.
Our overall aim at the end of a project is to deliver a well-crafted space that is fine-tuned to each individual client and reflects who they are. In addition, our projects are delivered on time, on budget and at the high quality expected from our clients.
